Creative Play for Nature Journalers
The idea behind Creative Play for Nature Journalers is to help us let go of fears and allow art to be the joy that it can be. We often get caught up in wanting things to be perfect and forget that it should be about having fun! The antidote to perfectionism is play!
Sketching upside-down
In this session, Bethan will be joined by special guest Kim Lapere, who will lead us through an exercise in sketching upside-down!
Playing with negative space
In this session we talk about the concept of negative space and how we can play with this in our nature journals.
Drawing with our non-dominant hand
In this session we will play with drawing a natural subject using our non-dominant hand. Bring along a pencil, some paper and a sense of fun!.
Gesture sketching
Today we are talking about and practicing gesture sketching. This is a quick and freeing practice that help us capture the dynamic movement of animals or anything else we see in nature.
Blind contour drawing
In this session we will sketch using one continuous line and without looking at the page. This way we are focusing all our attention on the subject, and embracing wonky and ‘imperfect’ lines.
